I've been searching for a purple toned palette for a while now. It's hard to find one that is neutral and not completely over the top. I personally think it is rare to find a quad that I will actually use all of the colours. I usually end up reaching for another palette to blend something out, or because theres just simply something missing. The Illamasqua Complement palette has solved all of my purple toned palette problems. It is seriously gorgeous.
The packaging is nice and compact, and comes with a good sized mirror (always a bonus). But at $42.50 for a quad, you'd hope it would. What I find very unique about this product is that one of the shadows is actually a creme! So, lets get down to it. It comes with 4 shadows (duh, its a quad). All of the shadows are extremely bendable and pigmented. When I blend all of the shadows onto my eyes, it shows up as a nice lilacy-taupe colour, which I personally LOVE.
The first is Slink (soft champagne shimmer). I love to use this as a highlighter on my cheekbones too.
The second is Focus. This is the creme shadow that is described as a Liquid Metal (cool brown metallic).
The third is Queen of the Night (rich chocolate plum). Because this purple has a strong brown undertone, it is so easy to wear.
The fourth is Forgiveness (blackened plum with pinky/red shimmer).
